The story behind the name
Why Yammm?
Before Yammm was a business, it was Yet Another Media Meta Manager.
Many years ago, I built a free tool in my spare time to manage movie metadata and artwork for Windows Media Center. I called it Yammm, short for Yet Another Media Meta Manager. What started as a personal project ended up with a lot of users — far more than I ever expected.
When my side work started earning more than my day job, it was time to register a business. I already had the Yammm domain and everything set up around the name, so Yammm it was.
All these years later, I’m still amazed that people are using the original Yammm, long after Microsoft moved on from Windows Media Center. Every so often, someone still emails me about it. For those of you looking for the installer, here is the latest published Windows 8 build.
